Mention.com is a tool for monitoring mentions on social media and in the media. The service covers a wide range of news channels, blogs, and radio stations.

Mention.com has long been one of the leaders in tracking mentions, but in 2026 there are many other excellent options. In this article, we have reviewed the best tools for reputation management and tracking mentions of your brand that can replace or surpass Mention in terms of functionality, price, and source coverage. So, let's choose the best Mention.com alternative?

To fully understand the features of each service, I signed up for each one and paid for a subscription (or used a trial where possible), and I also read many reviews on platforms such as G2 and Trustpilot.

The criteria I will use to rate alternatives to Mention.com: sources of mentions, search interval, prices, AI accuracy for analyzing mentions, ease of use, notification settings. As the author of this article, it is important for me to present a transparent and honest experience of using each platform.

MentionTracking

MentionTracking is a multifunctional and user-friendly platform for tracking mentions on social media and other online resources in real time. MentionTracking is one of the few platforms that offers a completely free plan with a wide range of features.

The sign-up process was super easy and quick, and right after signing up, I added a keyword and instantly got mentions of my keyword from a lot of social networks.

Key features:

  • Track mentions in near real time
  • Customize notifications and receive them via email/Slack
  • Accurate AI sentiment analysis of mentions
  • User-friendly analytics section

MentionTracking monitors multiple social networks (Instagram, Twitter, etc.), as well as blogs and news sites.

In my opinion, MentionTracking is ideal for startups, small businesses, and marketing agencies. MentionTracking has the most user-friendly interface, which even a beginner who has never used such services before can easily understand. Everything was intuitive, worked quickly, and was quite accurate.

The only downside I noticed is that you can't use the archive to read mentions that were written before your keyword was added.

Brand24

Brand24 is a tool for monitoring social networks, forums, and podcasts. The service focuses on processing brand/keyword mentions using AI. The service provides a detailed analytical report generated with AI.

To sign up for this service, you need to use a business email address. The sign-up process is pretty easy and is pretty much the same as MentionTracking.

After adding the keyword and selecting the language, I started seeing posts mentioning my keyword, but the problem was that I had selected English for mentions, and ended up seeing posts in Spanish and other languages.

It was also difficult to understand how these messages were sorted, as they were sorted by relevance based on AI analysis, and I would like to see messages sorted by date. Otherwise, I liked the service. Mentions of my keyword appeared very quickly, and I was also satisfied with the wide selection of platforms for monitoring.

Key features:

  • Wide range of sources (not only social networks, but also websites and podcasts).
  • One of the few monitoring tools that has its own mobile app.

The downsides of this tool are that the interface is a bit confusing and the sentiment analysis sometimes doesn't work right.

Awario

Awario is a popular social media and web monitoring tool. Unlike other tools, Awario offers 30,000 mentions per month on its starter plan. This tool specializes in finding mentions on web pages rather than social media. Therefore, if you are more interested in finding mentions of your brand in the news or blogs, then this tool is definitely for you.

The sign-up process for this tool was simple, and after adding my keyword, the search for mentions began. The downside was that it was not possible to select the language and sources (platforms) to monitor when adding a keyword. Therefore, all messages had to be filtered in the mentions feed itself, which was not very user-friendly.

I found the feed itself not very easy to browse and read; the posts are too short, and you have to open each one separately to understand it. Also, in the analytics section, the author age value always showed 35-44, even though 5,000 mentions were found. This may have been a temporary technical issue.

Key features:

  • High mention limits (from 30,000 per month)
  • A huge array of websites for monitoring

Brandmentions

Brandmentions is a tool that is perfect for spying on competitors. The tool allows you to set up tracking of your competitor's keywords, and then see in the analytics section what strategies they use and on which platforms your competitor gets the most traffic.

After signing up, I got a 7-day trial period. The process of adding my first keyword was pretty tricky. The system thought my keyword was a brand that didn't exist, and I had to manually delete a bunch of junk keywords that were added automatically.

The mention feed itself was quite easy to use, and the filters worked correctly. The only mistake was that metrics such as performance score and reach were completely inaccurate. It felt like the system was just using random numbers. The tool presents itself as a premium service, so prices start at $99 per month, which may be expensive for small businesses and startups.

Key features:

  • A very deep search across the entire web, not just popular social networks.
  • A user-friendly interface and an easy-to-use mentions feed. Mentions are updated once a day.
  • Depending on the plan, the tool allows you to see mentions of your keyword before you signed up.

Mentionlytics

Mentionlytics is a tool that, unlike many similar tools, not only monitors mentions, but also allows you to connect your social media accounts and respond to comments, as well as write posts directly from the app. Mentionlytics has recently added a lot of AI features. Now, AI suggests the best time to publish posts and analyzes data about mentions of your brand.

The tool is a partner of the popular Hootsuite, so if you already use Hootsuite, integrating with Mentionlytics will be really easy. This tool is ideal for marketing agencies that manage multiple brands (it allows you to easily generate reports for clients).

After registering, I received a trial version and added my keyword. The keyword search took about 30 minutes, after that I started exploring the feed of mentions and found it very difficult to use. It has the worst interface compared to all other tools (or maybe I just didn't understand how to use it). But I saw a lot of posts in the feed that didn't even contain my keyword. Also, even though I chose to search only for mentions in English, I saw many posts in other languages in my feed.

Key features:

  • Integration with Slack/Trello for quick notification of the team about important mentions.
  • User-friendly and functional analytics section. Reports can be set up to be sent automatically to your email.

To sum up, I would like to highlight two leaders. If you have a small business, a start-up, or work in your company's marketing department, I would recommend trying MentionTracking. This tool has a huge range of features, while the interface is not overloaded and even those who have never used similar tools before will be able to work out how to use it.

For large businesses, I would recommend Brand24. This tool tracks multiple sources and provides excellent analytics.
